Ordering, Workflow & Turnaround
Q1. What are the First Steps to Getting Started with Your Project?
You can begin with an initial consultation, and a site survey will be conducted by us. An evaluation of your property’s entry points, lighting, Wi-Fi, and/or Network Strength will be completed so that we can design a customized installation layout plan for you.
Q2. How Long Does the Design Phase Typically Take?
Typically, we can accommodate your request to provide a 3D Digital System Design Proposal and Quote within 48 hours of your Site Visit.
Q3. Should I purchase equipment separately?
If you decide to provide the necessary hardware yourself, we recommend getting us a complete solution. Because we will supply the hardware, which guarantees the equipment will work with one another and will have already been updated with its latest firmware before arriving at your location. Also, all of your equipment will be under a single, unified warranty, which will cover all of the components.
Q4. How do I complete the order?
After you confirm the quote, you will complete your installation by putting down a 50% deposit. This deposit guarantees you a scheduled day for your installation and starts the hype process for getting your specific pieces of hardware – NVR, cameras, and specialized cabling.
Q5. How much time is there between when I place my order and when my installation is completed?
Our office is estimating a 3 – 5 business day lead time for all installation orders in 2026. Installation orders requiring multiple thermal or PTZ cameras (large commercial installation) may have a 7 – 10 day delay due to possible difficulty of procurement.
Q6. How long is the installation?
For small homes (2 – 4 cameras), the installation process takes approximately 4 – 6 hours. For larger homes (5 – 8 cameras) the installation will take approximately 1 day (8 – 10 hours). For installation in a business (8 + cameras) requires 2 or more days, depending to the complexity of the cabling and the type of ceilings.
Q7. Will I lose power or my internet service during installation?
You will briefly lose power and your internet service while we need to reboot the router to configure the Static IP for the cameras, and if necessary we may have to briefly cut power to a circuit to provide power to new electrical outlets for the NVR hub.
Q8. Does the installation date include installation training?
We reserve the last 60 minutes of the installation date to go over the mobile app, show you how to retrieve video, and set up alert zones for AI in your smartphone before we leave.
Q9. If an additional camera is added to the initial installation date, what happens?
Assuming we have additional inventory on the truck that day, we normally can add another camera while we are at your home. However, because of how we plan our cable runs before arriving at your home, if you choose to add a camera during your installation, it may cause delays in completing your project (with changes to your invoice).
Q10. How do I know the project is considered complete?
The project is only considered complete after the final walkthrough of the system. A final walkthrough means that you have verified that all of the camera views/focus meet your satisfaction, and you have been provided with a copy of the system configuration sheet along with a login set of credentials.

Quality Assurance & Revisions
Q1. When leaving the house after the installation, how does the crew verify that the system is functioning properly?
We utilize a simulated real-life situation to perform a camera installation test. We will put the system through various situations to ensure there will be no longer be any problems with the system. For example, we would walk through an area where there was no light to ensure the infrared camera detected us and we would also run through a zone to determine if motion alerts were working.
Q2. Will your hardware comply with regulations effective in 2026?
Yes, all CCTV sold in Houston, beginning on April 1, 2026, must be certified with local regulations. We are plain and simple going to install “Essential Requirement” (ER) compliant hardware that includes firmware that is secure and encrypted to prevent hacking.
Q3. How will you ensure the camera’s ability to see at night after being installed during the day?
We use Dark-Box testing or add shrouds to some cameras to put them into “Night Mode” for the purpose of calibrating the IR intensity so that there are no reflections from walls or glass that would blind the cameras when they switched into Night mode.
Q4. What is your standard for cable integrity?
We use Solid Copper Cat6 (not CCA) cabling for all our cable runs and test each cable for continuity and speed. All outdoor terminations are installed in IP66-rated weatherproof enclosure boxes to protect against corrosion (which is the leading cause of “video loss” errors).
Q5. What is your process for providing security against default passwords?
We have a Zero-Default Policy as part of our quality assurance (QA) process, meaning that we will never leave a system, at the end of the installation process, with a factory default password such as “admin/12345”. We will assist you with setting up a secure, encrypted master password as well as setting up Two-Factor Authentication on your mobile app.
Q6. What happens if I don’t like the angle of the CCTV camera after a few days?
I don’t like the camera angle after a couple of days. What are my rights to adjustment of angles?
We offer a 14-day camera angle adjustment policy. This means if after 14 days you have determined a need to tilt/pan your cameras slightly for better coverage over a specific area of interest, we will come back out (at no additional charge) and adjust the camera once.
Q7. Can zones for “Smart Alerts” be modified?
Yes, we can modify your zones for “Smart Alert.” If you find that you have too many false alarms (i.e. from a tree that is slightly blowing), we can remotely log into your system (with your consent) or come out to make changes to the AI detection zones to ensure that you only receive notifications for people or vehicles.
Q8. What happens if the storage fills up too quickly?
The duration of stored video footage is dependent on motion levels. If your goal of 30 days of storage is not being met, we will provide you with a Revision of the bitrate settings. This will allow us to help adjust the H.265 compression or frame rate in order to meet the goal of extended storage without compromising the quality of the recorded evidence.
Q9. Do you provide firmware updates after installation?
Yes, as part of our Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC), we perform remote quarterly firmware audits to review and install applicable security patches for your cameras, as they relate to the threat of cyber attacks in 2026.
Q10. What is your policy for repairing cameras with dead pixels or hardware failures?
The Full Replacement Revision Procedure is included if you have an issue with your sensor or dead pixels in the first twelve (12) months. You will not incur any costs for the uninstallation of the defective device, the installation of the new unit, or the reconfiguration of any settings during this full replacement process.

Privacy, Security & Copyright
Q1. Is it legitimate to record audio with my security cameras?
Under the provisions of the US Regulations, it is unlawful for you to record audio using your security cameras. As a general principle, you may not record audio if, without your explicit and informed consent, that recording will be done in a manner that could reveal any private conversations involving third parties and violate their Right to Privacy (Article 21). As such, you must receive express and informed consent from anyone being recorded when recording audio in a workplace or in connection with the recorded activity.
Q2. Is it permissible to aim my camera at a neighbor’s land?
(3) The “Reasonable Expectation of Privacy” standard is designed to protect individuals’ rights to privacy. In your case, it is permissible to operate your security cameras, to the extent that your cameras do not point towards a third-party’s property. Your security cameras can be pointed in the direction of your front gate and drive, but pointing your cameras directly towards the window or balcony of your neighbor, or their backyard, may result in you being charged with the Criminal Act of Voyeurism, contrary to the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023.
